For The Audience…

As you can clearly see, Sam and I have competing views on Voter Identification legislation. It may seem strange to listen to us differ, but unlike other blogs (cough…kid bloggers…cough), we value both individualism and open forums that don’t suppress alternative views from within. Basically, even though Sam and I blog together, neither of us is required to drink the other’s kool-aid.

So I think voter ID is necessary, and Sam thinks our legislators’ time would be better spent elsewhere. Question for our readers (both of you)…who do you think is right? Leave us your thoughts in the comments section.

I think you’re both right. You have to show ID for just about everything these days, why should something as personal as your vote be an exception?

Then again, people generally agree that more voter fraud takes place in the mail than at the poll. Seems like a lot of effort and political capital are being expended on a solution that won’t solve the real problem.

Why can our IDs not be used for discounts at restaurants? That has always pissed me off.
