Former Governor Dolph Briscoe Soon To Be On Coffee Tables
Fresh off his 85th birthday, Governor Briscoe has published his new memoir in conjunction with the Center for American History at the University of Texas. The memoir covers his early life, career in politics, and his successes in ranching and business enterprises. In announcing the memoir, Governor Briscoe had this to say:
“History gives us a sense of what the future can be,” he said, giving a crowd of about 300 friends and family a good idea of what his campaign voice must have sounded like. “I would like to ask each and every one of you, as you leave here tonight, to think about the future.”
As a member of the Legislature, and Governor of Texas from 1973-1979, we’re sure this book will be a worthwhile read. We’ll get a review on it up ASAP. On a humorous note, former Republican candidate for Governor turned choke artist Clayton Williams also has a book out. Sam and I haven’t decided yet if that one is worth our time.
