I’m Sorry Mr. Jackson, But I Am For Real…

I’m not sure if Rep. Jim Jackson is openly auditioning for the role of the fourth House Stooge, or if he really thinks that Quorum Report is his own personal sounding board, but much like his back and forth volley on proposed rules to remove a sitting Speaker, Mr. Jackson is flooding Harvey Kronberg with endless literature on Ghost-Gate.

First it was his letter to the Executive Director of the Employee Retirement System, where Mr. Jackson asked for all records of past elected officials who later went on to work as a full-time employee for the state and used that time to grow their elected class pension. Despite being just an open records request, Mr. Jackson made sure to beat home his point that such practice was an act of theft.  And figuring that we didn’t get him the first time, Mr. Jackson dropped a two page press release that basically repeats everything that was in his initial letter.  However, despite the mundane nature, Harvey was right there to print it.

Slow day in the news, Harvey?

But the bigger question is reserved for Mr. Jackson.  Is Ghost-Gate going to be your own personal dead horse to beat to get your name in the papers?

Reforming the practice because you truly believe that it needs to be reformed is one thing.  But to update us with press releases every time you call over to Lege Counsel to order a bill draft is a completely self-serving other.

I don’t want to do it, Mr. Jackson, because on the whole I appreciate your service in the House.  But if you push me, I will crown you the fourth House Stooge.
