Indiana Goes Off Without A Hitch

Yes, yes, I know. Liberal blogs everywhere would have you think that in Indiana only the young…rich…white…affluent got to cast votes in the state’s primary. But per the AP, despite record turnout, Indiana’s new voter ID law did next to nothing to derail the process. In all, more than 1.6 million voters looked at the new requirement, shrugged their shoulders, showed their photo ID and proceeded into the ballot box as planned. However, no system is perfect, and 12 nuns were turned away for lack of ID. And boy were the Democrats there ready to whore this story out.

But if you read deeper into the details you will see that the group of nuns were informed earlier that day that they would need photo identification in order to be in compliance with Indiana voting law. Follow me…

Sister Julie McGuire said she was forced to turn away her fellow members of Saint Mary’s Convent in South Bend, even though they had been told earlier that they would need to get such an ID to vote.

It is later insenuated that perhaps some or all of the 12 nuns did not have the proper identification, which makes this a good opportunity to point out that as part of the Indiana law THE STATE WOULD ISSUE A FREE IDENTIFICATION CARD TO CITIZENS LACKING ID OTHERWISE.

But don’t worry, these twelve nuns, by all accounts, were alone. Also from the article…

Elsewhere across the pivotal state, voting appeared to run smoothly, despite the fears of some elections experts that the photo ID law could cause confusion at the polls.

More than 1.6 million votes were cast Tuesday in the Democratic and GOP presidential races with nearly all precincts reporting, according to unofficial tallies by The Associated Press. That smashed the 1992 primary turnout of a little more than 1 million votes.

Wow, the article actually says, “run smoothly” and “smashed the 1992 primary turnout”. Who would have thought? And yes, I am waiting for a loud mouth liberal to fall into my bear trap by standing up and saying, “You can’t compare these turnout numbers with historical turnout numbers. This was a unique year, therefore it is inaccurate to compare the two!”

That’s right, unsuspecting Democrat. Step closer, keep walking this way. Never mind that odd looking pile of leaves that you are walking toward.

The other flaw in liberals’ arguments is that I fail to see where the Indiana law supressed Democrat voters. We’re talking about nuns here, and everyone knows that God votes Republican.
