Jan Bullock Doesn’t Like The New Book On Her Late Husband, And She Probably Doesn’t Like Me Either
A while back, I reviewed the book titled Bob Bullock - God Bless Texas, and told every one of you to run out and get your hands on a copy. Well, as it turns out, not all feel the same way. Since Sam and I want to encourage alternative views on this blog, I felt it prudent that you know that Bob Bullock’s widow thinks that Dave McNeely and Jim Henderson’s take on her late husband is, “a hatchet job”.
Strong words from the woman married to the political legend, which is why I thought you would want to hear them. Jan Bullock goes on to claim that she does not understand why the authors didn’t try to solicit her consultation, and asserts her view that McNeely could never write about her husband without prejudice. From there the article takes its normal course of the authors standing up for their work, and third parties weighing in, but then the ending gets a little dicey.
Just as the article closes, Jim Henderson, one of the authors, fires right back at Ms. Bullock by saying, “Jan wanted to write her own book about Bullock. Didn’t happen. Get over it.”
Ouch. Pretty sure that one isn’t going to win her over.
And, for the record, I stand by my review. I thought it was an excellent read.
