The Chair Now Recognizes…OGR
Well hells bells. OGR has now landed its first elected official for a reader, and none other than Chairman Dan Branch. Earlier today the Chairman sent Sam and I his press release announcing his appointment to the Legislative Budget Board, filling the vacancy of the resigning Fred Hill. While we are flattered, Mr. Branch, I think I speak for Sam and I both when I say that we’ll never be able to fully forgive you for giving the story to Harv-o first. Anymore of that nonsense and I’m striking you from my fab-five list.
I’m not exactly sure what the Legislative Budget Board does, but it sounds cool so congrats to Mr. Branch for adding this feather to his hat. In accepting the appointment, he had this to say:
“I am grateful to the Speaker for the opportunity to serve on the Legislative Budget Board. It’s a high honor to serve with him, the Lt. Governor and a small group of legislators to help direct the state’s fiscal responsibilities.”
So OGR now has its foot in the door with the Texas House members. What ever will we do with ourselves? Oh yeah, continue to not really matter, that’s what.
Hey, we may scare off more readers than we keep but at least we don’t have an inflated sense of self purpose.

Nobody ever gives me any consideration… I mean, I AM the President of a small, intergalactic consortium of dolomite dealers, but I do have considerable power in my realm.
