This was day three of our recent mothershipping charter to the outer Great Barrier reef some 200 kilometres offshore. Day three Time for the Maroons to put some runs on the board, and they were still keen to fish the deep. With these wide deep marks, it pays to look after them and not too fish them too hard, They can be susceptible to overfishing. The Shipping Channel off Mackay, is now suffering from several years of great fishing and is well short of the glory years gone past.
